Manchester Tennis Falls To Peru In Sectional Championship

The Manchester boys tennis team’s season came to an end Friday, Sept. 29, losing to Peru, 4-1, to finish the season 10-6.

In singles play, Josh Steely lost, 6-0, 6-0, Peyton Jones lost, 7-5, 6-2, and Caleb Struble-Hedstrom lost, 6-0, 6-0.

The No. 1 doubles team of Cole Henderson and Connor Trump lost, 6-0, 6-0.

Manchester’s only win came at No. 2 doubles where, for the second night in a row, Sammie Lambert and Owen Harshman came from behind in the third set to pull out a 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 win.

The Squires say good-bye to seniors Steely, Jones, and Lambert, along with exchange student, Pedro Casas.
