The Manchester and Wabash girls soccer teams opened sectional play Thursday at Wabash with the Lady Squires defeating Blackford 4-0, while the Lady Apaches fell to Eastbrook 8-0.

The Lady Squires defeated Blackford 4-0 in the first round of Sectionals tonight. The ladies started off strong and possessed the ball well in the middle. Early on, Ava Sautter found the net first off a great pass from Campbell Bolinger in the middle. Aymia Miller scored the second goal after a cross from Hannah Eberly. Before the half Brookelynn Buzzard finished off of a crash from Hanna Stout’s shot.

During the second half the Lady Squires gave themselves many opportunities to score, but it wasn’t until the last minute of the game that Ava Sautter had a breakaway and finished her shot. Addison Brubaker, Karsyn Kamphues, Maggie Onderko-White, Molly Schannep, and Chase Blevins held a tough defensive line tonight. Grace Smith got the shutout with 2 saves. Manchester will play in the championship game on Saturday night at 7p.

Wabash fell to Eastbrook 8-0

The Lady Apaches finish their season with a winning record 7-6-2 and tied for 2nd in the TRC conference.
