Squires Headed To Sectional Championship

The Manchester Squires football team is the lone standing county team left in the tournament, defeating Central Noble 28-21 Friday to advance to next Friday’s sectional championship against Ft Wayne Luers.

The Squires would put the first points on the board in the first quarter when Logan Eastgate connected with Ben Brown for a 24yd scoring strike. Central Noble would tie the score with 57 seconds left in the quarter to make it 7-7 after one.

Central Noble would grab a 14-7 lead halfway through the second quarter before Eastgate found Colten Nelson from 26yds out to make it 14-14 at the half.

The Squires would get the lone score in the third when Eastgate broke loose for a 49yd scoring run to put the squires up 21-14 with a quarter to go.

Central Noble would tie the score early in the fourth before the Squires mounted a game winning drive that ended with Reiss Gaerte scoring from 11yds out for the 28-21 final
