Girls Varsity Basketball falls to Mississinewa 61 – 38

The Tigers traveled to Gas City to face the Mississinewa Indians in a non-conference matchup Saturday night. The Tigers came out strong holding a 11-9 lead after the first quarter. The Tigers then struggled with transition defense and gave up to many easy baskets to maintain any momentum and found themselves in a halftime deficit down 23-15. The Indians grew that lead to 20 in the 3rd quarter after the Tigers took quick shots and let the Indians continue to get out into transition and convert easy baskets. The Tigers showed life at the start of the 4th quarter cutting the lead to 12, but never got closer than that as transition continued to stifle the Tigers comeback attempts which ultimately lead to the final deficit as the Tigers could not get key stops.
