Girls Varsity Basketball falls to Culver Academy 31 – 30

The Tigers traveled to Culver Academies Saturday for another non-conference matchup. The Tigers found themselves in a 16-7 hole at the end of the first half due to some shooting struggles, but battled back in the 3rd quarter with solid defense only allowing 2 points finding themselves down 18-16 heading into the 4th quarter. The 4th quarter was a back and forth battle both ways. The Tigers found themselves up 30-28 with 10 seconds left and with the basketball. The Tigers threw an errant pass and allowed the Culver Academies Eagles a shot, offensive rebound, and then an Eagles 3 point opportunity that found the bottom of the net with no time left to beat the Tigers 31-30. The Tigers were lead offensively by both Kaylene Kirk and Addison Robbins with 10 points each. Brooklyn Garner had 5 points. Mareiona Mason had 3 points. Maliyah Dunn had 2 points. The Tigers are now 0-5 on the year. The Tigers begin TRC play Tuesday at Tig-Arena against the Whitko Wildcats. JV tip is scheduled for 6:15pm with Varsity to follow.
