Lady Kings Improve to 5-0

The Lady Kings improve to 5-0 with a 39-25 victory over Northwestern. Sparked by 13 first half points by Aftin Griffin, the Kings were able to get a comfortable 25-10 half time lead. The Lady Kings then kept their foot on the gas to jump out to a 37-14 lead at the end of the 3rd. The 4th quarter saw an aggressive Northwestern team fight back, but the Kings were able to hold them off for the 14 point victory. Aftin Griffin led all scorers with 17 points. She also had a team high 5 steals. Heta Kosunen continued to make her mark as she pulled down 7 rebounds to match her 7 points. Kinsey Mennen yet again protected the paint as she earned 3 more blocks and pulled down 6 rebounds. Mennen also chipped in 5 points to the total. Other scorers for the Kings were Anna Hedrick with 4 points, Mylie Sipe with 3, and Faith Helvie with 1.

The Lady Kings have a long lay-off before they face Caston in the Cass County Tournament after Thanksgiving.

Girls Junior Varsity Basketball beats Northwestern, 40 – 22

They Lady King Junior Varsity improve to 3-1 with a convincing 40-22 victory over Northwestern. Laura Nebrera and Laney Davis paced the Kings scoring 25 of the Kings 40 points. Davis’ 12 came in just two quarters of play. Kylie Logan added 8, while also only playing two quarters. Other scoreres were Lexi Gotshall with 3 points. Lilly Hammond and Ava Hubner both added 2 points each.
