Lady Kings Meet Their Kryptonite in Caston
The Kings finally stumble in the first round of the Cass County Tournament, with a 53-28 loss to 1A #4 Caston. From the start, the Kings struggled to find consistent scoring. Senior Kinsey Mennen tried to will her team into the contest as she led the Kings with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 blocks earning her a double double on the night. Other scorers for the Kings were Faith Helvie and Aftin Griffin with 5 points each. Heta Kosunen added 4 points and Anna Hedrick pitched in 3.
The Lady Kings return to action Saturday, in the consolation game of the Cass County Tournament at Logansport as they face the host school, the Lady Berries.
The JV Lady Kings defeat Caston to place them in the Cass County Championship game. Laura Nebrera led all scorers with 14 points. Laney Davis was right behind her with 12. Lexi Gotshall was huge in the middle getting 3 blocks and several rebounds. She also added 4 points to the total. Kylie Logan was able to chip in 4 points, all in the 2nd quarter. Lilly Hammond rounded up the scorering as she added 2 to the total.
The girls will play Saturday at 5:00 at Logansport.
