Varsity Tigers vanquish Knights 72-59

Peru got off to a quick start playing good defense and knocking down shots to lead by 11 after 1. In the second quarter, both teams began to get sloppy on offense with Peru managing to push their lead to 13 at the half. The second half mirrored the second quarter with many miscues and turnovers on both sides of the floor. Xavier Turner had a huge 3rd quarter knocking in 12 points, with 2 huge 3’s, one as time expired to push Peru’s lead back up to 18 points after 3. Southwood started the 4th quarter hot as Peru continued to hang on to the ball and cut the lead to 10 before Peru was able to make a few buckets to slow the comeback attempt. Peru was able to hang on to the win.
