Girls Varsity Basketball beats Peru 62 – 30 on Educator Appreciation Night

Before the start of the varsity game, the Lady Braves honored some of the teachers that have impacted the lives of our players. Thank you for what all the teachers and staff does for our players.

In the 1st quarter the Lady Braves came out and played really well on both ends of the court. Bailey Carson and Sydney Barnes scored 15 of the 25 points in that quarter. And the defense really shut down what the Tigers wanted to do on offense.

In the 2nd quarter the two teams played even to a 8-8 scored before going into halftime where the Lady Braves held a 33-17 lead.

In the 3rd quarter, Miranda Stoll got on track and helped the Lady Braves build their lead up over 20 points during that quarter with her scoring 6 point in the quarter.

In the 4th quarter, the lady Braves continued with their offensive power bounding the ball inside to Ireland Kile who had 8 points in the quarter. And when Ireland wasn’t scoring on the inside, then Delaney Betzner and Chloe Smyth were hitting shots from outside. Betzner had 7 points in the quarter and Chloe Smyth hit a 3 point shot.

On the night, the Lady Braves had 8 players get into the scoring sheet, led by Ireland Kile with 14 points, Bailey carson 12 points, Miranda Stoll with10 points, and Sydney Barnes and Delaney Betzner both had 9 points a piece. Rounding out the scoring was Chloe Smyth and Aubrey Stoll had 3 points each and Hallie Maiben ran the offense very well had added 2 points. Aubrey Kaiser and Shaelyn Powell did another outstanding job on the defensive end holding Peru’s leading scorer to just 7 points for the game.

The Lady Braves play again on Saturday, December 16 at 6:00 pm as part of the Boys/Girls double header at Logansport.
