The Manchester swim teams fell to Lewis Cass Thursday.

Girls Varsity Swimming falls to Lewis Cass

The Manchester girls swim team dropped a close meet against new TRC foe Lewis Cass 104-76. The girls had several season bests, but were out-touched in several close races. The 200 medley relay team of Rachel Garcia, Hannah Eberly, Joanna Eberly, and Noelle Walt finished 2nd less than a second off the victorious Cass team. In the 200 freestyle, Hannah Eberly and Evyn Fox each swam season best times to finish 2nd and 3rd. Joanna Eberly and Elena Lawrence finished 2nd and 3rd in the 200 IM before Rachel Garcia took the first Squire victory of the night in the 50 freestyle. After the diving break, Joanna Eberly swam a lifetime best in the 100 butterfly to take second just .11 seconds back from the winning Cass swimmer. Rachel Garcia captured her second win in the 100 freestyle, and Evyn Fox picked up another Squire win in the 500 freestyle with a season best swim. In the 200 freestyle relay, the Squire team of Hannah Eberly, Joanna Eberly, Noelle Walt, and Rachel Garcia took a close second as the hard charging Garcia nearly caught the Cass anchor leg, finishing 2nd by .4 seconds. Manchester closed the meet with a pair of victories as Hannah Eberly won a close race in the 100 breaststroke and the 400 freestyle relay team of Sophie Anglin, Evyn Fox, Raegen Shah, and Elena Lawrence held off the Cass relay. The Squires will train hard over Christmas break and return to action on January 3rd when they host Wabash.

Boys Varsity Swimming falls to Lewis Cass

The Squire boys swim team fell to Lewis Cass 58-101. Cale Bennett was a triple winner, and Cameron Peacock was a double winner. Individually, Bennett won the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke. Peacock was first in the 100 breaststroke. Bennett and Peacock teamed with Jet Thomas and Luca Jelen to win the 400 freestyle relay. Bennett, Peacock, Jelen, and Gabe Selleck took second in the 200 medley relay, and Selleck, Jelen, Caleb Struble-Hedstrom, and Jet Thomas were second in the 200 freestyle relay. Luca Jelen competed in his final meet for the Squires as he will return home to Austria after the new year. Manchester will hit the pool for hard traning over Christmas Break and return to action on January 3rd when they host Wabash.
