Girls Varsity Basketball falls to Whitko 70 – 59

The Lady Braves traveled to South Whitley to play the 13-3 Lady Wildcats of Whitko High School.

It might have been cold outside but the two team were hot from behind the 3-point line combining for 18 made 3-point shots.

In the 1st quarter, the two teams combine for 5 made 3FG. Miranda Stoll had two and Addie Maiben had 1 during that quarter for the Lady Braves. With some misfortune turnovers the Lady Wildcats took a 20-15 lead going into the 2nd quarter.

In the 2nd quarter the Lady Braves couldn’t cut into the lead with the Lady Wildcats won that quarter 15-7, taking a halftime lead of 35-22.

In the 2nd half, the Lady Braves outscored the Wildcats 37-35 but just couldn’t cut into the lead enough to come back.

The Lady Braves got scoring from 10 players in the game, they were led by Miranda Stoll with 24 points and 5 rebounds, Bailey Carson had 11points and a team high 8 rebounds. Sydney Barnes had 7 points and 3 rebounds.

The Lady Braves are now 9-9 on the season going into the last week of the regular season with games at Southwood on Monday (1/22), at Northwestern on Tuesday (1/23) and finish up the week at home on Friday (1/26) with a boys/girl’s doubleheader against Lewis Cass.
