Girls Varsity Basketball falls to Rochester 31 – 23
Lady Kings lose a tough road game to conference foe, Rochester. In a game that the Kings struggled finding baskets, their defense kept them within striking distance the entire way. Unfortunately, they couldn’t hit enough shots late to get them over the hump. THe Kings were led in scoring by Aftin Griffin and Heta Kosunen with 8 points each. Anna Hedrick scored 5 points. Kinsey Mennen added 2 to the total.
The Lady Kings drop to 18-3 on the season. They are now 7-1 in the conference. The Kings have a chance to share the conference championship with Whitko with a victory over Maconaquah on Friday night.

Girls 8th Grade Basketball beats Northwestern MS-HS 36 – 33
The 8th grade Kings fought the entire 24 minutes in order to get the victory over the visiting Northwestern Tigers. Every player contributed, from grabbing rebounds, ripping loose balls from the Tigers and playing defense. The girls did a great job controlling the ball in the fourth quarter, running time off the clock and making the Tigers play defense. Hope Rush led the way offensively with 22 points,fighting through a sprained ankle to help seal the win at the end of the 4th quarter. Kiley Silcox battled foul trouble all night but came up big in the fourth, helping control the basketball and scoring 6 points. Presley Johnson stepped up and filled in at point guard after Hope’s injury hitting a huge 3 in the fourth quarter. She finished with 4 points. Madi Lynch rounded out the scoring with 4 points, also coming up big in the fourth as she helped handle the Tigers pressure. Shay Dishner and Jenna Gotshall battled all night, setting great picks, getting rebounds and playing defense.
