The Wabash High School boys track team turned in an impressive early season performance in Saturday’s Hoosier State Relays Final held at Fall Creek Pavilion in Indianapolis. Behind a 2nd place finish by Spencer Stout in the 60 meter hurdles, a 4th place finish by Coleson Kugler in the 60 meter dash, and a 5th place finish by the 4×400 meter relay team of Coleson Kugler, Drew Guenin-Hodson, Chase Howard, and Spencer Stout the Apaches scored 21 points en route to a 6th place finish. All schools in class 1A-3A had a chance to qualify individuals and relays during the previous 3 weeks. Any athlete or relay that posted a top 24 mark in an event during the qualifying period earned the opportunity to run in the finals. Once in the finals the top 8 of the 24 that qualify in each event score points for their team.

In addition, the Apaches also qualified 3 other relays who competed fiercely turning in their best performances of the season to date. The 4×200 relay of Coleson Kugler, Spencer Stout, Logan Cantrell, and Kristian Stanton finished 12th. The 4×800 relay of Jonas Church, Kaden Vogel, Drew Guenin-Hodson, and Ezra Church finished 14th. The Distance Medley Relay of Jonas Church, Kaden Vogel, Ezra Church, and Isaiah Cordes finished 19th.

It was another great day for the Squire Track and Field Team as the athletes set personal records across the board.

Carson Heath reached the podium in two of his events placing 8th in the high jump at 6’0 and 7th in the 60 m hurldes with a PR time of 8.76. Teammate Eli Metzger also set a personal record finishing 20th with a time of 9.38.

Kyler Dale tried to steal the show just missing breaking the 10:00 mark with a 10:01.87 time in the 3200m. Kyler placed 15th overall.

The ladies Distance Medley team of Ava Egolf, Hannah Eberly, Evyn Fox and Ayla Cashdollar improved their time by 25 seconds to place 14th overall. (Ayla was so excited she had to run an extra lap. Sorry Ayla)

And the guys 4×200 team of Thomas Rodriguez, Heath, Metzger, and Carter Wagoner ran a season best of 1:35.79 placing 16th.
