The Manchester baseball team took two games from Caston Saturday.

Manchester won the first game 6-0

The team scored one run through 6 but busted the game open with a huge 7th inning, where they pushed 5 across the plate. Harper Sturtsman kept the Comets guessing as he made the most of his first career Varsity start. Sturtsman threw a complete game shutout, while striking out 9. The Squires did commit a few errors defensively; however, there were several web gems made throughout the contest. Two that stood out were Ethan Hendrix flashing the leather at shortstop and Evan Estep making a few great plays in RF. Estep also had the opportunity to show off his arm as he gunned a runner trying to go 1st to 3rd on a base hit. Offensively the Squires continued to hit well as they had 7 total hits.

The Squires took game two. 7-5

After finishing game one strong, the Squires came out a little flat in game 2. The Comets scored 3 in the 1st inning and another in the 3rd to go up 4-2 on the Squires. In true Squires fashion, the team continued to grind and take quality ABs. The team struggled to bring runners in as they left several runners on. However, in the top of the 6th, the Squires put it all together for 4 runs. The team added another in the 7th for a little insurance. Garrett Sites made his season debut on the mound. He fell victim to a few Squires errors; however, he went 2 strong while giving up 2 ER and striking out 6. Evan Martynowicz came in and threw 5 solid innings while giving up 0 ERs and punched out 6 Comets hitters.

Offensively, the Squires continued the hit parade by getting 13 hits by 7 different guys
