Lady Eagles were able to come back late in the 7th inning to beat the Warriors 6-5 after being down 5-2 at the start of the 7th inning. With 1 out Madison Archer drew a walk and then with 2 outs Lex Myers drew another walk. Taylor Holloway drove 2 runs in with her hit right over the shortstop to cut the lead down to 5-4. The next 4 batters drew walks to have a walk off win 6-5! Taylor Holloway lead the offense with 3 hits and 2 RBIs. Evie Holz, Karsyn Wiley, and Madison Archer all had 2 hits. Alivia Shaw had 2 RBIs and 2 walks. Lex Myers also drew 3 walks. Freshman Pathie Speicher pitched all 7 innings and ended with 5 strikeouts and only allowed 5 hits and 2 walks in her first start on the mound!

OHTF Lady Eagles Open Outdoor Season Scoring Over 120 Points Beating Frankton & Sheridan – Highley Wins 4, Pond & Travis Win 3

The OHTF Lady Eagles fresh off a Top 20 finish at the HSR Indoor State Finals opened their 2024 Outdoor season in strong fashion Tuesday winning 15 of 16 events to score 123 points in beating Frankton (11) and Sheridan (19).

Along with their 15 1st Place finishes the Lady Eagles also managed 8 Runner Ups, 8 1-2 finishes, 5 1-2-3 finishes, and in 2 events swept the Top 4 Scoring Places.

Senior Leah Highley led the way as the IUK committ won all 4 of her events. Highley swept the individual sprint events winning the 100 Meter Dash, 200 Meter Dash, and 400 Meter Dash. She also anchored the winning 4×400 Meter Relay. Joining Highly on the relay were Freshman Kora Pond along with Sophomores Lexi Nuber and Audrey Rex. Rex added a 2nd in the 400 behind Highley.

Pond along with Sophomore Biruk Travis were three event winners. Pond was also a member of the winning 4×800 Meter Relay as well as winning the 800 Meter Run individually. Travis joined Pond on the 4×8 relay while taking individual wins in the 1600 Meter Run and 3200 Meter Run.

Nuber was one of four other Lady Eagles to win multiple events as she took the 300 Meter Hurdles. Juniors Bella Taylor, Jennessa Shields, and Ellie Campbell all joined Nuber in winning 2 events. Taylor won the High Jump and 100 Meter Hurdles while Shields swept the throwing events winning the Shot Put and Discus. Campebell took 1st in the Long Jump while also anchoring the winning 4×100 Meter Relay. Campbell also took 2nd in High Jump and a 3rd in the 200.

Shields led a strong showing in the throws as the Lady Eagles went 1-2-3 in Shot Put with Juniors Gwen Thompson and Aubrey Warnock going 2-3 behind Shields. In the Discus Shields, Thomson, and Warnock led a clean sweep of the Top 5 places with Junior Sarah Beth Tripp taking Runner Up honors with Thompson and Warnock in 3-4 and Sophomore Madelyn Cheek in 5th.

Other Lady Eagle event winners were Seniors Evelin Perez and Freshman Quinn Brunner who joined Pond and Travis in the 4×8. Juniors Cail Bowlin and Riley Alfandre along with Sophomore Ava Miller joined Campbell on the 4×1. Miller and Bowlin both grabbed big points combining for three additional 2nd place finishes. Junior Abby Sneed was the only other individual event winner taking the Pole Vault.

OHTF Golden Eagles Open Outdoor Season Scoring Over 100 Points Beating Frankton & Sheridan – Scott, Jackson, Sweet All 3 Event Winners

The OHTF Golden Eagles fresh off a 3rd Place finish at the HSR Indoor State Finals opened their 2024 Outdoor season in strong fashion Tuesday winning 14 of 16 events to score 104 points in beating Frankton (43) and Sheridan (7).

Along with their 14 1st Place finishes the Golden Eagles also managed 6 Runner Ups, 5 1-2 finishes, 3 1-2-3 finishes, and in 6 events where they earned at least 3 of the Top 4 Scoring Places.

Seniors Owen Jackson and Trenton Sweet along with Freshman Jalen Scott led the way all winning 3 events. Jackson and Sweet teamed up to win the 4×800 Meter Relay. Joining them on the relay were Fellow Senior Toby Sneed and Sophomore Corban Tippey. Sweet grabbed wins individually in the 1600 Meter Run and 3200 Meter Run while Jackson took the 800 Meter Run and anchored the 4×400 Meter Relay. Jackson was joined on the 4×4 by Juniors Lance Wyrick-who took 2nd to Jackson in the 800, Morshown Cotton, and Senior AJ Austin.

Scott had a strong ooutdoor opener as the Freshman sprinter won both the 100 Meter and 200 Meter Dash while anchoring the winning 4×100 Meter Relay. Joining Scott on the 4×1 were Sophomore Josh Morgan along with Juniors Micah Mckinney and Cotton.

Other Golden Eagle mulit event individual winners were Junior Drew Elzinga in the 110 Meter Hurdles and 300 Meter Hurdles along with Senior Tai Johnson who swept the throwing events winning both the Shot Put and Discus.

The only other individual winners on the night was Seniors Levi Trexler in the High Jump and Nate Brower in Pole Vault. His younger Freshman brother Kyle was 2nd in the event with Junior Maddux Boswell taking 3rd for the 1-2-3 sweep.

Junior Reese Hernandez had an impressive debut as he took runner up honors in the 100 Meter Dash and 3rd in the 200 Meter Dash to Scott.

Sneed added a 2nd in the 3200 Meter Run. Austin was runner up in the 400 Meter Dash. Senior Ajay Papai and Junior Blake Reece helped sweep the top three spots in the Shot Put behind Johnson going 2nd and 3rd respectively. Juniors Barrett Jones and Trey McDowell helped a strong showing in the throws taking 3rd and 4th in the Disc behind Johnson.
