Oak Hill varsity baseball drops close one

Oak Hill varsity baseball competed really well and came up just short in a 9-8 loss at Manchester.

Senior Gavin Hazelwood and Junior Matthew O’Banion kept us in the game with good relief pitching (0 earned runs in 3 innings of work).

Senior Peyton Workman led us offensively with 3 hits (2 singles and a double).

Varsity Softball beats Peru High School 4 – 2

The Eagles scored in the first inning with two outs as normal fashion. Pathie Speicher had a single with Karsyn Wiley following with another single. Madison Archer came up with a hit to right field to score a run. Peru then answered with two runs in the 3rd inning. In the 5th inning, Alivia Shaw started off by getting to 1st on an error. Then with one out, Karsyn Wiley hit a single. Bella Foustnight came in to run for her. Then Madison Archer came up again and drove in two runs with a double!! With a throwing error to first, Lex Myers was able to get to 2nd with Archer on 3rd base. Liz Godfrey came up and laid a beautiful sacrifice bunt to score Archer and make it 4-2.

Maddie Archer lead the Eagles with two hits and three RBIs. Karsyn Wiley also had two hits.

Pathie Speicher pitched the first five innings and had four strikeouts, allowed five hits, four walks, and two runs. Then Macie Foustnight closed the last two innings with no hits or runs scored!
