Golden Eagle varsity baseball moves to 2-0 in CIC play

Emmett Dorothy was excellent on the mound with a complete game shutout (4 K, 1 BB, 0 ER, and just 3 hits).

Matthew O’Banion was 2-3 with a double and an RBI. Peyton Workman was also 2-3 at the plate with 2 stolen bases.

Varsity Softball beats Madison Grant 8 – 3

The Lady Eagles beat county rival Madison-Grant tonight 8-3!

The Eagles started early by scoring one run in the first inning. Alivia Shaw started off with a double to right center and then moved over on Jolee Hawkins single to left. Hawkins stole second and on the throw down, the ball got away from the shortstop and Shaw was able to score.

The second inning, Bella Foustnight laid a perfect slap to get a single and then stole second and third! Zoey Bragg then bunted the ball for an RBI.

The Lady Eagles broke it open in the third inning by scoring five runs!! Evie Holz lead the charge with a single to left. On a fielders choice, Jolee Hawkins made it to first. Karsyn Wiley came up and hit the ball hard over the left fielders head for a single. Madison Archer then laid down a bunt to score a run and beat out the throw to first! Bella Foustnight came up clutch once again and slapped the ball between third and short to score a run and earn a hit. She stole second again. With runners now on second and third, Lex Myers snuck a bunt down and made it to first. With the bases loaded, Zoey Bragg drew the walk to score another run. Then Taylor Holloway hit an amazing double the landed right by the right field line to score two runs!

The Eagles scored their last run in the fifth inning. Taylor Holloway was back up to bat and singled to get on. With two outs, Evie Holz got hit by a pitch and then Jolee Hawkins hit a high ball to center that dropped and Taylor was able to score.

The Argyles tried to make a comeback in the seventh, but the Lady Eagles made some good plays in the field to put an end to it.

Bella Foustnight and Taylor Holloway lead the way with three hits a piece. Bella had three stolen bases and an RBI. Taylor had two RBIs.

Jolee Hawkins, Karsyn Wiley, and Madison Archer all had two hits. Jolee had two stolen bases and two RBIs. Karsyn had one RBI.

Zoey Bragg had a sacrifice bunt and two RBIs. The Lady Eagles had fifteen hits as a team tonight.

Karsyn Wiley pitched the first four innings and finished with four strikeouts and allowing four hits and only one run. Pathie Speicher came in and finished the game strong for the Eagles and only allowed two runs.
