Boys Varsity Baseball beats Tipton 12 – 2

Deven Mitchell pitched the Braves to a victory Thursday night in Tipton. The freshman hurler threw a complete game while striking out 8 hitters and walking 2. He also added a single and an RBI on the night.

Kaleb Shelton came up big for the Braves with a double, triple, and 5 RBI. Bennett Isenburg delivered 2 hits, 4 runs scored, and 5 stolen bases on the night. Braxtin Birner also had 2 hits. Damion Torres added a single as well.

The Braves defense continues to be solid around the diamond. Devon Murry, Mitchell, Birner, and Marcell Sims all made tough plays in the infield. Zach Stolz played well defensively as well for the Braves.

The Braves play again on Friday at Lafayette Harrison and at Taylor on Saturday.

Braves Lose to Knights at Home

Maconaquah Boys Golf had its second match of the week versus Southwood. The team shot pretty similarly across the board. Cody Miller had the low score for the team with a 52. Camron Metcalf and Aiden Robinson both came in with a 53. Carsten Hollars was the fourth score with a 56. Zach Duke shot a 57. The final score was Maconaquah 214 – Southwood 187.

Southwood only had one JV player that played against Jakob Grant who shot a 63. Wyatt Swift shot a 58, Kyle Bockover shot a 52, and Drew Grigsby shot a 67 as they played against each other.

The next match is tonight, May 3rd at Honeywell Golf Course versus Wabash and Northfield.
