Boys Varsity Baseball falls to Laf Harrison 14 – 0

The Braves played good defense but it wasn’t enough to hold off the Harrison bats tonight. Braxtin Birner and Caiden Richards both singled for Braves tonight.

Coaches comments: ” I felt that we threw strikes and played solid defense tonight. Give credit to the Harrison team for being patient and waiting for pitches that they could hit hard”. “Richards, Jayden Mercer, and Zach Stolz all threw strikes and gave the defense a chance to help them.

Maconaquah Softball Fell to Northwestern Thursday Night

The Lady Braves Softball Team Traveled to Northwestern Thursday Night.

The Braves speed to a 4-0 lead after 3 innings, but Northwestern answered with 7 runs in the bottom of the 3rd.

The Braves chipped away tieing the game 7-7 going into the bottom of the 7th. Unfortunatly, for the second night in a row, the Home Team defeats the Braves in walkoff fashion.

Maconaquah Softball open against North Newton in the Delphi Tourney

The Braves traveled to Abby and Libby Memorial Park Friday night and face off against a tough North Newton team participating the Delphi weekend long softball tournament.

Maconaquah was able to rack up 4 hits and put some runners on the bases against Newton’s outstanding pitching. However, the Braves could not hold against North Newtons constant pressure on offense. The Braves loose 10-0 after 5 innings.

Boys Varsity Baseball beats Taylor 10 – 0

Maconaquah bounced back on Saturday to earn a win over Taylor. Adam Cannon pitched a complete game shutout. He allowed 2 hits over 5 innings. The Braves continued to play sound defense behind their pitchers today. Taylor put several balls in play and the Braves made plays.

Braxtin Birner lead the Braves with two hits and two RBI. Kaleb Shelton and Bennett Isenburg added doubles for the Braves. Damion Torres and Chris Mitchell also had a hit a piece for Maconaquah. Jacob Isley came through with a sac fly as well.

The Braves play Monday at home vs Southwood.

Braves Golf Play well in NHS Cole Invite

The Maconaquah Boys Golf team saw much improvement on Saturday and placed 6th of 11 teams at the NHS Cole Invitational. This was their 4th match of the week.

Camron Metcalf had the low score for the Braves with an 85 (42-43). Aiden Robinson came in with an 89 (41-48) and Cody Miller shot a 94 (46-48). Zach Duke shot a 105 (52-63) and Carsten Hollars came in with a 112 (56-56). The team score was 373.

Their next match is Tuesday, May 7th, versus North Miami and Lakeland Christian at the Peru Municipal Golf Course.
