Squires Take Two From Dekalb
The Manchester baseball team took a double header from Dekalb Saturday.
Manchester won game one 3-2.
The Squires hosted the Dekalb Barons today for a double header. It was a beautiful day to play two games. The Squires were led at the plate by Ethan Heandrix and Payton Jones. Both were 2-2. Hendrix scored 2 runs and had a stolen base. Jones had an RBI and two stolen bases.
Other offensive stats included the following:
Dallas Martin 1-2 with a run scored and RBI
Garrett Sites 1-4 with a double
Gavin Martin threw a complete game. He had 5 Ks and picked up the win.

The Squires took game two 11-4
The Squires took the momentum from game one into game two. The Squires jumped out to a 4-0 lead but the Barons cut the lead to one with a big 3rd inning that resulted in 3 runs. However, the Barons were held to 1 run over the final 4 innings. Davin Hendrix started game two on the mound. Davin gave up 3 earned runs over 4 1/3 innings. Hendrix collected 2 Ks. Evan Martynowicz came in, in relief with the game tied. Marty threw 2 2/3 innings of no-hit baseball. Marty had 4 Ks. The offense exploded for the Squires in the bottom of the 5th and 6th to give them a 7 run lead. Marty picked up the win.
Gavin Martin led the Squires offensively by going 3-4 with two doubles, a homerun, 4 RBIs, and 2 runs scored.

The Squires are now 15-4-1 on the season. The team will resume conference play on Monday as they host Whitko.
