The Manchester tennis team won two matches Wednesday.

Manchester traveled to Peru and played matches at 1 & 2 singles as well as 1 doubles as Peru only had 4 players. Manchester won each match by the identical score of 6-1,6-0 as all players showed their talent and strong play while working on parts of their games in anticipation of upcoming postseason play. Manchester’s JV did not have opponents to play against so some stayed home for a competitive scrimmage while the top six JV played against the varsity who didn’t have opponents.

Manchester played their second match of the beautiful spring evening due to inclement weather postponing the Wabach match for a 3rd time this season. On the way home from the Peru match, the Manchester Lady tennis team dropped by the Honeywell Courts to sweep Wabash for a perfect Three Rivers Conference Championship season. This was Manchester tennis’s second title in as many years and Coach Eichenauer’s 7th TRC title in the last 12 seasons of play. Manchester would sweep all three singles positions without giving up a game while one doubles would only drop one of the 13 games it played. Two doubles took a bit longer to close its match winning 6-3,6-3. Manchester’s record is now 12-0 on the year with the JV moving to 12-0-1 for the 2024 campaign. All 29 Lady Squire players showed great improvement, heart and hustle, as well as excellent sportswomanship. Manchester looks forward to Monday’s sectional draw which will be held back in Peru on May 15,16,17.
