Results from Peru for Monday August 5th and Tuesday August 6th

The Tigers made the trip to Chestnut Hills on Monday to open their season at the Homestead Invitational. The team had to battle rainy weather for the early part of the round before skies cleared and the sun came out. Piercey Dyer led Peru with a round of 80, followed by Maddie Caldwell with 126, Raina Nero with 132, and Bailee Beattie with 133. The team score of 471 earned the Tigers 12th place on the day.

Northridge won the team title with a round of 318 while Abby Peterson of Warsaw defeated Taylor Larkins of Carroll in a playoff for medalist. Both players shot rounds of 71.

The Tigers were on the road again Tuesday at Battle Ground Golf Club for the Lafayette Jeff Booster Invitational. The team improved by over 50 shots from the previous day, carding a 420 to finish 18th. Piercey Dyer fired a two under par round of 70, earning 2nd place individually in a strong field with several ranked teams. Raina Nero shot 111, Maddie Caldwell 113, and Bailee Beattie 126, all improvements from the first round of the season.

Zionsville took home the team trophy with a score of 304 and Taylor Shively was medalist with a round of 69.

Peru has a couple days off before the Logansport Invitational on Saturday at Dykeman Park. Tee times begin at 11:00.
