Norse/Squire XC Opens Season At Warsaw Invite

The Northfield cross country teams ran in the Warsaw Invite Saturday.

Our team traveled to Warsaw for the Tiger Invitational where Kaleigh Rice finished in 6th place with a time of 20:49. Teagan Baer and Ali Copeland came in 24th and 29th with times of 23:05 and 23:13. Olia Leffert finished out our team with a time of 28:57. The ladies set a good pace for the season opener and will continue to make improvements this season. We travel to Mississenawa next Saturday.

Kourtland Pratt led the Norse with a 24th place finish in a time of 19:09. Eli Gahl followed Pratt across the line in 19:10. Following Eli was Preston Moore at 19:59, Ryland Miller at 20:37, Tayten Barlow at 21:03, Blake Aderman at 21:27, Nate Hodson at 21:33, Xavier Roark at 22:30, Gavin Lester at 23:13, Ashton Aderman at 24:44 and Landon McLaughlin at 32:20. This was an awesome meet to start our season. We travel to Mississenawa next Saturday.

Though no team scores were calculated, the high school girls has a great first meet Saturday at the Tiger Invite at Warsaw HS. Ayla Cashdollar ran sub 20 for the first race of the season to medal in 2nd place. Kadence Fox, after not racing for 9 months, had an incredible time of 21:05 to finish 8th and medal. Rachel Eberly started the season much faster than last, and our newcomers Aubrey Carroll and Ella Bradley ran smart first races. The girls team will race at home against Central Noble, Southwood, and Triton on Tuesday.

Though no team scores were calculated, the high school boys has a great first meet Saturday at the Tiger Invite at Warsaw HS. Kyler Dale tied his career PR to open the season in a medal earning 2nd place, and Oliver Fitzpatrick ran a career PR to break 18 and medal in 7th place. Clark Showalter, Jet Thomas, and Gabe Selleck were 3rd, 4th, 5th for the Squires. Newcomers Cris Agudo, Wyatt Martin, Charlie Van, and Ezra Hendricks all ran excellent first races. The individual results are attached. The boys team will race at home against Central Noble, Southwood, and Triton on Tuesday.
