Results from Peru for Thursday, August 22nd
The boys varsity soccer team had their first conference game of the season vs Manchester, falling 2-1. Our boys fought very hard for the first half not allowing many offense threats to break through the defensive line. Manchester managed to put to in the goal about 10 minutes into the second half. The Tigers did not let this get to them and locked down the defense and eventually answering their goals with one of our own by Sophmore Zion See. The last ten minutes of the game was controlled by the tigers, but we unfortuanly could not find the back of the net by the end of the time clock.
The Tigers traveled across town to the Peru Muni to take on North Miami on Thursday evening. The match was very closely contested with Peru winning by one stroke 215-216. Piercey Dyer was match medalist with a round of 40 that included an eagle and two birdies. Maddie Caldwell followed with a season low round of 52. Bailee Beattie shot 61, Raina Nero 62, and Gracie Dunnaway 74 to round out scoring for Peru.
The Tigers are at Stonehenge Golf Club on Saturday for the Warsaw Invite. The tournament is scheduled to begin at 1:30.
