Results from Oak Hill for Saturday, August 24th
The Lady Eagles move to 3-0 on the season after beating Marion 9-0. The Eagles maintained possession most of the game and were able to score 9 goals and had 5 assists. Landri Hardman had a hat trick and an assist. Lexi Nuber added 2 goals and an assist. Kora Pond, Erika Newhouse, and Annie Hale each scored a goal. Madelyn Cheek scored a goal off a cross from Bella Kenyon. Oak Hill travels to Blackford on Wednesday evening to face the Lady Bruins.
The varsity competed in 4 games today in the North Miami Invite ending with a 3-1 record for the day. Stats are listed below

Morgan Cates led the team in aces and kills with 3 aces and 9 kills. Braeleigh Evans, Lilly Edwards and Alexa Myers each had 5 digs a piece. Addison Carey ended with 10 assists and Amaya Thompson ended with 6 assists.

Alexa Myers and Ava Miller each had an ace a piece. Brianna Dailey led the team with 4 kills. Braeleigh Evans had 9 digs and Alexa Myers in second with 6 digs. Morgan Cates had 2 solo blocks and Brianna Dailey had 1 solo. Amaya Thompson finished with 7 assists and Addison Carey finished with 5.

Alexa Myers led the team with 3 aces. Lilly Edwards in second with 2. Morgan Cates led with 8 kills. Brianna Dailey and Bella Taylor each punching in 4 kills. Braeleigh Evans led with 9 digs, Ava Miller in second with 5 digs. Brianna Dailey finished with 2 solo blocks and Morgan Cates finished with 1 solo. Addison Carey ended with 9 assists and Amaya Thompson ended with 7 assists.
Game 4: Oak Hill v Wabash

Lilly Edwards led with 3 aces. Ava Miller, Braeleigh Evans and Alexa Myers each had 1 ace a piece. Morgan Cates led with 5 kills. Aubrey Warnock and Bella Taylor each had 4 kills. Braeleigh Evans led with 14 dogs. Alexa Myers in second with 9. Morgan Cates and Aubrey Warnock each had 1 solo block. Addison Carey ended with 5 assists and Amaya Thompson ended with 8 assists.
The girls have an away game against Logansport on Monday following the junior varsity game starting at 6p.
The OHXC Lady Eagles started their 2024 season Saturday at the very tough Huntington North Invitational. The event featured a field almost entirely comprised of larger schools as well as multiple Top 25 State Ranked teams including last year’s State Runner Up and this year’s #2 ranked preseason team Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran.
The Lady Eagles scored 353 points to finish 14th overall. Concordia won the event with 49 points while Columbia City was 2nd, East Noble 3rd, Fort Wayne Dwenger 4th, and Top 25 State Ranked Fort Wayne Carroll 5th.
Senior Lady Eagle Audrey Woodard led the way in the varsity event finishing a highly respectable Top 50 in 42nd overall in a time of 21:31. The time matched Woodard’s best time from a season ago on a tough course. Sophomore Lady Eagle Quinn Brunner was 69th in a new lifetime best 22:56. The time for Brunner was almost 2 minutes faster than any time she ran a year ago. Senior Lady Eagle Abby Sneed was close behind in 75th while Sophomore Lilly Snyder and Freshman Rossi Skinner rounded out the varsity both also grabbing Top 100 finishes in 92nd and 95th respectively. Like Brunner, Sneed and Snyder both posted times faster than their season best a year ago.
The Varsity Top 7 was rounded out in the Junior Varsity race with Junior Kaitlyn Scalf and Freshman Lilly Hunt both posting solid races in 24th and 41st.
The OHXC Golden Eagles started their 2024 season competing Saturday in the stacked Huntington North Invitational. The event featured almost entirely all larger schools as well as the #19 and #24 ranked Teams in the State.
The Golden Eagles were undermanned due to injury and late illness and did not post a full varsity score only running 4 athletes in the varsity race. Sophomore Kyle Brower led the way with a Top 50 finish in 18:15. Brower’s time was near his personal best from a season ago. Classmate Eli Leak was the #2 Golden Eagle across the line in 85th with Junior Jordan Denham also finishing in the Top 100 in 90th. Leak’s time of 19:35 was a personal lifetime best by over a minute.
Top 20 State Ranked Fort Wayne Carroll won the event with Yorktown in 2nd and Top 25 State Ranked Fort Wayne Concordia in 3rd.
The Golden Eagles did load up the Junior Varsity race with their young Freshmen and Sophomore group. Freshmen Bret Hueston, Gavin Key, and Josh Clark all finished in the Top 20 of the race leading the young Golden Eagle group to a Top 3 Team finish behind Columbia City and Fort Wayne Dwenger and in front of Fort Wayne Carroll.
