Results from North Miami for Saturday, August 24th
The North Miami XC Warriors traveled to Monon to compete in the North White Cross Country Invitational, and they represented NM well! Although they did not post a team score, seven individuals ran well to kick off the season. High School newcomers and freshmen Leah Shafer and Ella Myers ran their very first cross country race today, and both performed well, with Shafer and Myers just missing out on top-25 finishes! Sophomore Michael Miser ran a good race while recovering from sickness just two days before. Junior Leah Miller had a solid performance, maintaining a steady pace in her first race of the season.
In the middle school race, 8th grader Rivkah Miller ran her first race of her career, maintaining a good pace in her first race. Sydney Lane (8th grade) and Taylor Starkey (7th grade) had great races as well, just missing out on top-25 finishes and improving on last year’s North White times by about a full minute!

The Lady Warriors opened scoring in the first 55 seconds of the game vs Culver on Saturday(8/24) and carried a tie until late into the 2nd half, but eventually fell 1-3 to the Cavalier’s in Saturday’s HNAC matchup. Alex Gerstorff assisted Brylee Edwards on the goal after Kinzy Storm made a play at half field and brought the ball in to the attacking half laying off a pass to Gerstorff who slid through the defense and crossed the ball to Edwards who was waiting to hit the ball with her left foot in to goal far post. The Warrior defense did well to close down any central attack and the Cavelier’s were forced to shoot from outside, eventually hugging a couple of shots from 25 yards under the bar and into the net. The Lady Warriors are back in action tonight at Peru at 5:30.
