Manchester Girls Soccer Runner Up At Own Invite

The Manchester girls soccer team defeated Western 7-1 before falling to LaVille 2-1 in the championship match of the Manchester Invite Saturday.

Manchester girls came out strong against Western to get the win 7-1. Ava Sautter got her first goal assisted by Hanna Stout. Shortly after, Hanna Stout scored off an assist by Samantha Shock. Late in the second half Raimi Vawter was able to find the net off a beautiful through ball from Campbell Bolinger and Ava Sautter finished the first half scoring off an assist from Samantha Shock to make it 4-0 heading into halftime. The Lady Squires continued agressive attacks throughout the second half as Samantha Shock finished a great cross from Joanna Eberly, Ava Sautter scored unassisted to complete her hat trick, and Olivia Stevens got the final goal assisted by Maggie Onderko-White. Manchester’s defense lead by Addison Brubaker, Molly Schannep, Chase Blevins, and Maggie Onderko-White only allowed 9 shots while Karsyn Kamphues had 4 saves.

The Lady Squires came up short in the championship game of the Manchester Invite with a 2-1 loss to Laville. Manchester had numerous scoring opportunities but Samantha Shock had the only goal 35 seconds into the second half assisted by Hanna Stout. The ladies fought hard and possessed the ball well but were unable to get the ball in the back of the net.
