Wabash Boys Win Manchester XC Invite

The Manchester, Wabash and Northfield cross country teams ran in the Manchester Invite Saturday.

Wabash won the boys race. The team placed 5 runners in the top 15 and won the Manchester Invitational Saturday morning with a score of 49. A trio of Apache runners crossed the line in succession lead by Isaiah Cordes in 6th place, Jonas Church in 7th ,and Jace Bullins in 8th. This triple threat put the Apaches in a great spot. Not far behind was the duo of Brett Shull and Caidan Burchett who came in 13th and 15th respectively. These two worked together throughout the race and narrowed the gap between the first three Wabash runners culminating in only a 45 second gap between the first five Wabash runners. Kamden Oswalt – the top freshmen in the race, continues his season improvement coming in 32nd place. Brother Kasen Oswalt ran to a 32nd place finish with a consistently great effort. Matthew Niles races fiercely to a 63rd place finish and Maverick Sommers who destroyed his previous best performance comes in 109th. There were 193 runners in the race.

The Manchester varsity boys team finished 9th out of 26 teams today at the Manchester Invite, only 7 points behind 6th. Kyler Dale (5th) and Oliver Fitzpatrick (18th) led the team with big career PRs. Clark Showalter, Jet Thomas, Gabe Selleck, Charlie Van, and Wyatt Martin all ran PRs in the varsity race. Cristabol Agudo finished 12th in the JV race ahead of Everett Short, Noah Macias, Evan Bennett, and Marcus Harlan who all ran PRs.

The Manchester girls varsity team finished 13th out of 28 teams today at the Manchester Invite. The team was lead by medalist Ayla Cashdollar in 9th place. Newcomers Aubrey Carroll, Ella Bradley, and Kaylee Fetters all ran big PRs.

The Wabash Middle School boys cross country team ran in the Manchester Invitational Saturday morning, the biggest meet yet this season. The improved competition challenged the young Apaches to push even more resulting in a 6th place finish out of 17 teams. Kedryn Evenson led the way finishing in 12th. Jeffery Small crushes the race and comes in 16th. Landen Fisher makes a massive improvement coming in 34th. The rest of the pack was very close with Maesyn Jones in 54th, Demetri Shill in 56th, Easton Cantrell in 60th, and Kalib Mabery in 61st. Phoenix Brown runs to a 92nd place finish, Barrett Jones 95th, and Aiden Young smashing his best performance in 104th. In the JV race Ben Wagner, running in his first middle school cross country race, finishes in 40th. Finn Fairchild finishes in 60th with a great effort.
