The Manchester boys tennis team went the distance against TRC rival Rochester Tuesday, Sept. 10, defeating the Zebras 3-2.
With the match tied, 2-2, the match came down to a thriller between Manchester’s Brendyn Mugford and Rochester’s Jack Refit. Refit dominated the first set, winning 6-0. Mugford rebounded and took the second set, 6-3. The Squire sophomore appeared to be in control of the third set, taking a 5-2 lead. Refit cut the lead to 5-4. Mugford needed five match points to finish the job but got it done to held the Squires moved to 3-3 on the year and 2-2 in the TRC.
