Results from Peru for Monday, September 16th

Peru was on the road for the final night of the regular season at Chippendale against Eastern, Maconaquah, and Lewis Cass. It was a race against darkness and a closely contested match with Maconaquah winning with a score of 195, followed by Peru at 201, Eastern at 203, and Lewis Cass at 234. Piercey Dyer finished with a one under par round of 35, earning medalist honors. Maddie Caldwell finished with a season and career low nine hole round of 51. Raina Nero and Bailee Beattie finished with 57 and 58, each with plenty of positives to take away from the round.

The Tigers will start postseason play in the IHSAA Sectional at Chippendale on Friday. Tee times begin at 9:00.

Girls Varsity Soccer falls to Northwestern Sr. 4 – 1

The Peru Lady Tigers lost a very well fought game. The strong defense of Clark, Hoover, Rodriguez, Roush, and Bowman held off the Northwestern offense. Sensel pulled out 12 saves at goal in her first full game of play this year. Noted for spots of offensive play that brought the ball forward closer to the goal go to Keininger, Brooks, and Turner. Brown came so close to a goal in first half with her shot that the Northwestern goalie just caught. Other shots for the evening on goal were brought on by Brooks and Keininger. It was Blong that put the Bengal Tigers on the scoreboard with a sweet chip into the goal the second half when she was covered by the Northwestern defense. Although a loss the Bengal Tigers came out on top tonight with great play. They are in action again Wednesday against Twin Lakes, a televised game.

Boys Varsity Soccer beats Rochester Community High 5 – 3

Tigers fought a hard battle and came out victorious. The game was tied for the majority of the 1st half but the zebras scored in the last 3 minutes. The Tigers tied the game up in the second half with a goal from Oliver Rabe assisted by Landon Crowe. The game reminded tied and we won in a PK shootout.
