The Manchester boys tennis team traveled to Bourbon to face Triton Wednesday, Sept. 25, and won a come-from-behind match, 3-2.
The Trojans took a 2-0 lead with wins at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles.
Manchester’s No. 1 doubles team of Cole Henderson and Connor Trump held on for a 6-0, 7-6 (3) win followed shortly thereafter by a 7-5, 6-2 victory by Brendyn Mugford at No. 3 singles to tie the match.
At No. 2 singles, Caleb Struble-Hedstrom was in a battle, winning the first set but dropping the second to force a third and deciding set. The sophomore took an early third-set lead and never trailed, clinching the team win with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 victory.
The win puts the Squires’ record at 7-6 as they travel to Lewis-Cass Thursday, Sept. 26, for their final match before next week’s sectional tournment.
