Brooklynn Kraner led the team with 5 kills. Ava Hubner added 4 kills and led the defense with 6 digs. Maryn Zeck added 15 assists.

We play Southwood Thursday to end the season and then face Oak Hill again in the first round of sectionals.

Maconaquah

The Lady Braves hosted Logansport today and came away with the win in fives sets (23-25, 25-21, 25-18, 22-25, 15-13). On a night where we struggled to find consistent play and had a barrage of missed serves, we were able to come away with a win. We were able to face adversity and come back after Logansport gained momentum and won the fourth set. The Braves started the final set off strong, but let the Berries take the lead late into the decisive set. We were able to finish with confidence and aggressive play to terminate the match. The Lady Braves’ attack was led by Alyssa Birner with 20 kills and 25 digs. Fellow Senior Emma Zeiser had 12 kills and seven digs. Ireland Kile added 11 kills. Libero Addie Maiben had 29 digs and 30 serve receptions. Defensive Specialist Aubrey Kaiser dug up 13 balls and had 21 serve receptions. Setter Delaney Betzner dished out 22 assists and dug up 12 balls, while Averie Maiben had 20 assists and ten digs. The Braves are now 16-9 on the season. The JV team came away with a three set win (20-25, 25-23, 15-8). They were led by Leah Boggs and Lucee Jernagan with six kills a piece. Our next match is Thursday at home versus Tipton for senior night.

The Maconaquah boys soccer team came ready to play when they faced Eastern in the first round of sectional play and blanked them 13-0. The Mac attack consistently held the ball in Eastern’s defensive side of the field and resulted in very efficient scoring. The Braves took 25 shots and scored 12 goals from them. The additional goal came from a Penalty kick. Scoring for Maconaquah were Bennett Isenburg with 4 goals, Colton Beebe with 3 goals, Kevin Nord and Max Sachse with 2 goals each, Garrett McManus and Louis Mendoza with 1 goal each.
With this win, the Braves are now 12-4-1 on the season and will now have a rematch against Northwestern who got the better of the Braves in their contest during the regular season 1-2. This game will be held on Wed 10/9 at Maconaquah following the Peru/Wabash game which starts at 5 pm.

Oak Hill

The varsity girls defeated Lewis Cass in three sets last night. Stats and scores are listed below. 1st: 25-8 2nd: 25-19 3rd: 25-9 Alexa Myers led with 2 aces. Morgan Cates led the team with 10 kills. Amaya Thompson had 7 kills. Braeleigh Evans finished with 17 digs. Morgan Cates and Brianna Dailey both had 2 solo blocks a piece. Addison Carey ended with 36 assists. The varsity girls will be back in action for Senior Night on Thursday against Blackford!
