Lady Squires Fall Short In Sectional Championship

The Manchester Lady Squires soccer team fell in a physical, hard fought battle to Laville 2-1 in the sectional championship at Argos Saturday.

The game was back and forth with both teams getting good shots in the first half, but neither team could find the back of the net.

Despite a few injuries, the ladies kept playing tough. Manchester found the net first after a free kick from Ava Sautter that London Spangle finished. Laville scored the next two goals, which ended up winning the game for the Lancers.

Hanna Stout, Ava Sautter, Raimi Vawter, Samantha Shock and Maggie Onderko-White had other shots and created some good opportunities for the ladies to score. Addison Brubaker led the defensive end with Maggie Onderko-White, Molly Schannep, Chase Bleivns, and Karsyn Kamphues making a lot of great plays to stop a fast Laville offense. Cora Brown had 4 saves in the net.
