Girls Varsity Basketball beats Northwestern 57 – 20
The Lady Kings put on a clinic against the Lady Tigers of Northwestern, securing another commanding conference win. From the opening tip, their dominance was evident, thanks to suffocating defense and sharp perimeter shooting. By halftime, they held a decisive 31-11 lead, and their relentless defensive pressure left Northwestern struggling, with nearly no points until the final minutes of the third quarter.
Aftin Griffin showcased her versatility, leading all scorers with 19 points. Mylie Sipe was a force from beyond the arc, sinking four three-pointers to tally 14 points. Additional contributions came from Hope Rush (8 points), Anna Hedrick (6 points), Laney Davis (4 points), and both Ava Hubner and Kylie Logan with 3 points each.
It was an all-around team effort, as the Lady Kings improve to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the TRC.
The Lewis Cass JV Lady Kings came up short on the road against the Northwestern Tigers, falling 24-21 after a hard-fought game. Despite leading for much of the contest, the Lady Kings were unable to hold off Northwestern’s late surge.
Presley Johnson led the scoring with 9 points, while Hope Rush added 4. Kiley Silcox contributed 5 points, and Maddie Lynch rounded out the effort with 3.
