The Manchester swim teams placed fourth at the TRC meet at Maconaquah Saturday.
Rachel Garcia repeated as conference champion in the 50 freestyle to lead Manchester to a 4th place finish at the TRC championships. Garcia tied for first in the 50 freestyle and finished second in the 100 freestyle. Sophie Cumberland earned a pair trips to the podium, finishing second in the 200 IM and third in the 100 backstroke. Other Squires reaching the podium in individual events were Noelle Walt with a 6th place finish in the 50 freestyle and Kadence Fox with a 5th place finish in the 100 breaststroke. The 200 medley relay of Sophie Cumberland, Rachel Garcia, Noelle Walt, and Averi Thomas finished 3rd, the 200 freestyle relay team of Averi Thomas, Sophie Anglin, Kadence Fox, and Trinity Bradley finished 5th, and the 400 freestyle relay team of Garcia, Walt, Anglin, and Cumberland finished second. The Manchester girls final meet before sectional will be next Wednesday at home against Fort Wayne Canterbury.
Cale Bennett and Cam Peacock led the Manchester boys swim team to a 4th place finish at the TRC championships. Bennett finished 2nd in the 100 butterfly and 3rd in the 200 freestyle. Peacock was 6th in the 500 freestyle and 5th in the 100 breaststroke. The 200 medley relay team of Gabe Selleck, Cam Peacock, Cale Bennett, and Jet Thomas finished 4th, the 200 freestyle relay team of Noah Macias, Marcus Harlan, Keagan Noland, and Evan Bennett finished 5th, and the 400 freestyle relay team of Cale Bennett, Gabe Selleck, Cam Peacock, and Jet Thomas finished 3rd. Manchester’s final meet before sectional will be next Wednesday at home against Fort Wayne Canterbury.
