At Thursday’s preliminary round of the Warsaw sectional, the Squire boys advanced four individuals and all three relays to Saturdays sectional finals.
Cale Bennett led the way advancing to the championship final of both his events, qualifing 6th in the 100 butterfly in 57.24 and 3rd in the 500 freestyle in 5:18.59. Jet Thomas earned a trip to the championship finals of the 200 IM, qualifying 8th in 2:24.71 and advanced to the consolation finals of the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:12.12. Cam Peacock qualified 12th in the 200 freestyle in 2:05.75 and 9th in the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.05 to advance to the consolation finals in each event. Noah Macias qualified 16th in the 200 freestyle with a time 2:17.70 to advance to the consolation finals as well. The 200 medley relay team of Jet Thomas, Cam Peacock, Cale Bennett, and Gabe Selleck qualified 4th in the 200 medley relay with time of 1:52.24, the 200 freesytle relay team of Noah Macias, Keagan Noland, Marcus Harlan, and Evan Bennett qualified 9th, and the 400 freestyle relay team of Cale Bennett, Gabe Selleck, Jet Thomas, and Cam Peacock qualified 8th. The sectional finals will be on Saturday at Warsaw.
