Braves fall to Southwood Varsity vs Southwood Jr-Sr High School Loss The Braves fell in volleyball action to conference for Southwood Tuesday 25-9, 25-8, 25-8. Maconaquah is now 14-5(4-1 TRC) on the season. The JV team fought valiantly before losing 25-18, 25-16. The Braves next match is Thursday as we host possible sectional opponent Western. Southwood controlled the match from the beginning as our atrocious serve receive forced us out of system the majority of the match. Southwood had solid serves and made very few mistakes and that kept our girls flustered. The Knights are good at every aspect of the game and the Braves struggled to score consecutive points. Playing against the fast paced style of play will hopefully help us prepare for sectional play. The Braves were led by Kasey Murry and Ireland Kile with four kills each. Delaney Betzner had six assists and seven digs while Averie Maiben dished five assists. Kile led the team with 21 serve receptions.
