Wabash Boys Third At West Noble

The Wabash High School cross country teams raced at West Noble Saturday morning.

The Apaches totaled 102 points. Fort Wayne Northrop won with a score of 80 with host West Noble in 2nd with 83. There were 26 teams in the field. Ezra Church led the way for the Apaches coming in 4th. Caidan Burchett (7th), Isaiah Cordes (8th), and Kamden Oswalt (10th) were not far behind. Maverick Sommers, 5th runner on the day came in 77th. Landen Fisher finished in 118th. There were 165 runners in the race.

The girls were able to place 13th out of 19 complete teams with 27 schools represented in the race.

First for the team was Mya Golliher who came in with a time of 21:36. Golliher snagged 30th place, earning a plaque. The next Apache into the shoot was Mia Fairchild with a time of 21:44 and taking 35th place along with a plaque. Next up was Mallory Tart, with a time of 22:54 in 74th place. Pushing into the finish was Emma Cantrell with a time of 26:44, and placing 137th overall. Completing the team score with a fight to the end time was senior Maya Howard. Placing 138th, she had her season debut time of 26:53. In their race, there were 152 runners.

The Wabash Middle School girls cross country team turned in a determined performance.

Coming in first for the running Apache varsity race crew was 8th grader Teresina Cordes, taking 5th place overall and running a time of 11:21. Second for the team was 8th grader, Sutton Stoffel, running in with a career PR time of 12:17 and placing 24th overall. Following in was 7th grader AdaLynn (Grace) Jones with a season PR time of 13:08 and taking 68th place. Another orange and black runner into the shoot was 8th grader, Briar Stoffel, running in with a time of 14:30 and taking 126th place. The next Apache was our 5th grader, Eva Sommers, with a time of 15:10 and placing 152nd as an individual. The next Apache in was 6th grader Isabella Scott with a time of 15:42 and placed 161st overall. Next for the Apaches was 5th grader, Ruby Cantrell, running in with a time of 16:31 and placing 179th. In the varsity race, there were 196 runners and the girls placed 14th out of 25 complete teams. There were 36 schools represented within their race.

The Wabash Middle School boys cross country team ran at the West Noble Invitational Saturday morning, finishing 12th out of 35 teams

Jeffery Small was the first Wabash runner to cross the line coming in 23rd closely followed by Kedryn Evenson in 28th. Demetri Shull and Easton Cantrell were once again close as they finished 87th and 89th respectively. Macklin Denney finished 151st, Alex Perkins 157th, and Phoenix Brown 162nd. There were a total of 207 runners in the race.

In the reserve race Aiden Young finished 159th, Lukas Rojas 163rd, Barrett Benzinger 232nd with a new personal record, Finn Fairchild 249th, and Isaac Mattern 257th with a new PR as well.
