Results from Maconaquah for Tuesday, September 23rd

Maconaquah MS tennis won against Rochester 4-0, before getting rained out for some of the match. Dax Mooney and Noah Hoeksema won at singles, and Zayden Betzner was ahead 5-4, before the rain hit. Other winners included Max Berryman, Emma Crowder, Sophi Farmer, Owen Worley, Lucy Berryman, and Ryker Peters at doubles, with Alex Mitchell and Sawyer Beitz ahead 3-0.

Maconaquah hosted Wabash for 6th grade Volleyball. The home court confidence shines through as both A team and B team matches went into a 3rd set with a Lady Braves victory.

Braves Defeat Zebras in Three Sets
The Lady Braves were in Rochester Tuesday for a TRC matchup . Maconaquah came away with a three set victory 25-15, 25-21, 26-24. The Braves had a good start with a big lead to start the match and finished the first set convincingly. The second set saw back and forth action before the Braves pulled away to go up 2-0. We struggled with our service game in the third set but made enough plays to tame the Zebras and get the road conference win. The JV team lost in two sets 11-25, 24-26. The Braves are 15-6(5-1 TRC) for the season.

Nekane Hernandez downed 10 kills, had eight digs, and served six aces to lead the Ladies in Blue. Kasey Murry added seven kills, and 12 digs while MB Ireland Kile had also had seven kills, eight digs, and two blocks. Setters Delaney Betzner and Averie Maiben had 16 and 15 assists respectively running the Maconaquah offense.

Maconaquah welcomes conference foe Manchester for a a big TRC battle Thursday for our next match.

Wabash defeated the Braves in 2 sets. Wabash won 14-25, 16-25. Serve vs serve receive was the primary factor to this game with the strong serves of Wabash giving them the edge. We had several rallies with Wabash but struggled to keep the ball in play for the point. Keeping the ball alive and making several saves were Adela Houlihan, Hattie Hatcher, Eden Davis, and Ruby Kintner.
