VolleyKnights Sweep Wapahani For Regional Crown

The Southwood VolleyKnights completed a 25-10, 24-14, 25-17 sweep over Wapahani Saturday to capture the Southwood 2A regional Saturday.

The Knights jumped out to an early 13-7 lead in set one before the fatal Southwood run hit. The lady Knights would get back to back kills from Hali Pershing that ignited an 8-0 run to make it 21-7. Shania Rhamy and Mylah Dillon also had multiple kills during the run. After three straight Wapahani points, Rhamy would record two kills, followed by two aces from Dillon for the 25-10 final.

It was all Pershing early in the second set as she recorded three kills for a 4-0 lead. Wapahani would claw their way back and had the deficit at 10-7 before the Lady Knights did what they do. Taylor Haecker would join the kill parade and along with Rhamy the Southwood lead grew to 21-9. At 24-14 Haecker would end set two with a kill.

The third set was tied 3-3 before Rhamy went to work with three kills and a block that led a Southwood 7-0 run for a 10-3 lead. Again Wapahani would work their way back and cut the Knights lead to 17-13 before Rhamy and Alexis Lopez kills made it 21-13. At 23-17 Haecker would record back to back kills for the 23-17, 3-0 regional championship win.
