The No. 9 ranked Class 1A Northfield Norsemen Boys Wrestling Team turned in an impressive performance at the TRC Super Duals held Friday and Saturday at Maconaquah High School
The Norse finished second overall among 10 competing teams and only losing to the No. 3 ranked Class 1A team, Rochester.
The Norsemen dominated throughout the two-day event, winning eight of nine rounds:
- Round 1: Northfield 84, Manchester 0
- Round 2: Northfield 58, Maconaquah 22
- Round 3: Rochester Community 63, Northfield 15
- Round 4: Northfield 72, Northwestern 12
- Round 5: Northfield 39, Peru 37
- Round 6: Northfield 55, Lewis Cass 24
- Round 7: Northfield 45, Wabash 33
- Round 8: Northfield 72, Whitko 12
- Round 9: Northfield 67, Southwood 11
Two Norsemen wrestlers went undefeated during the tournament: Eli Gahl (8-0) and Tate Barlow (9-0). Barlow also reached a major career milestone, earning his 100th Varsity win.
