The Squire swim teams traveled to Elwood Monday night and split with the host Panthers.
The boys swim team topped Elwood 79-59 while the girls fell 63-80. For the boys, Jet Thomas was a double individual winner (200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke) while Evan Bennett (200 IM), Gabe Selleck (100 butterfly), and Eli Garcia (100 backstroke) all picked up an individual win as well. The 400 freestyle relay team of Selleck, Bennett, Garcia, and Thomas was also victorious.
For the girls, Sophie Cumberland won two events (200 IM, 100 backstroke) and Jana Boladeres (100 breaststroke) picked up another individual victory. The 200 freestyle relay team of Cumberland, Trinity Bradley, Laynen DeLaughter, and Maggie Akins also took first place. The Squires will return home on Wednesday when they’ll host Tippecanoe Valley.
