The Northfield junior high basketball teams split with Whitko Monday.
Northfield 8th Grade traveled to the Whitko Wildcats and won 28-21. After struggling on offense the past few games Northfield made a lineup change to help move the ball. Colton Rice got the offense started with 4 points in the first quarter giving Northfield an 8-4 lead. Jackson Renbarger brought tenacity and aggression on defense. 8th graders were able to get a lot of defensive stops and steals helping push the ball forward. Northfield travels to Manchester Thursday at 5:30.
The 7th grade boys lost to Whitko Monday night 26-11. Turnovers lead to easy points for Whitko. We got good shots on offense but couldn’t get many to fall. Will Moser led the team in scoring with 7 points. The boys are back in action on Thursday at Manchester. 7th Grade vs Whitko (11 – 26) Loss
