The Manchester boys and girls teams both opened up the new year with a loss to Lewis Cass.
The girls fell to a much larger Cass team 131-40 while the boys lost by a close 78-66 score.
The girls were led by Sophie Cumberland who took first in the 200 IM and 100 backstroke. Jet Thomas (200 IM, 500 Freestyle) and Evan Bennett (200 freestyle, 100 butterfly) were double winners for the boys. Gabe Selleck (100 freestyle) and Kai Elliott (100 breaststroke) also captured a first place for the Squire boys. The 400 freestyle relay team of Selleck, Eli Garcia, Hugo Montero Rodriquez, and Thomas was also victorious. Tonight marked the final meet for the team’s do-it-all manager Lene Hammans, who will return to Germany on Tuesday.
