Friday and Saturday at the IHSAA State Finals inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Northfield junior Elijah Gahl delivered a historic performance, becoming the school’s first wrestling state medalist since 1990 with a 6th place finish in the 175 pound division.
Elijah finished his season with an outstanding 50–3 record — and his only defeats came to the state champion, runner up, and 5th place finisher. An incredible accomplishment from start to finish! Elijah now joins Northfield legend Scott Mann (1990) as just the second wrestler in school history to medal at State.
