Manchester Tennis Test Culver

The Manchester girls tennis team was scheduled to compete in the Warsaw Invite Saturday, April 18, but rain washed the Invite out. However, Culver Academies reached out and the Squires made the trip Saturday morning to face the top-ranked team in District 2, as well as No. 24 in the state.

The Squires, 7th in District 2, pushed Culver Academies, but weren’t able to pull out a win, falling, 5-0.

In singles play, Myla Crozier lost, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 1 singles, followed by Bethany Penrod, and Chace Blevins each losing, by identical scores, 6-3, 6-2.

The No. 1 doubles team of Kait Schroll and Lexie Nichols were neck-and-neck with Culver, but fell short, 6-4, 6-4, while the No. 2 team of Ruby Martin and Tallulah Gawthrop lost, 6-0, 6-1.

The Squires enter a busy week with four individual matches, followed by a varsity invitational and a separate JV invitational on Saturday.
