The Tipton Blue Devils were in town Thursday night for Senior Night. The Braves wrapped up the regular season with a three set win (25-22, 25-16, 25-21). After honoring our seniors–Delaney Betzner, Ireland Kile, Aubrey Kaiser, Kasey Murry, Lucee Jernagan, and our two exchange students Ida Kiener and Sara Gil-Bonnin–our girls struggled early before finishing the first set strong. The second set had us play much cleaner volleyball to take control and win the set. The final set had the Braves build a lead before Tipton fought back. The seniors took control and finished the match with authority.
Ireland Kile put down 14 kills and dug up 12 balls playing all around for the Braves. Fellow Senior Kasey Murry tallied 13 kills and nine digs. Lucee Jernagan added five kills, and Bailei Boggs had three kills and three blocks. Naomi Cook dug up 13 balls from the Libero position. Aubrey Kaiser saved 10 rallies with a dig. Setter Delaney Betzner dished 35 assists and dug up six balls defensively.
The JV team dropped their match in two sets (18-25, 16-25). Eliot Fuller led the attack with six kills and two blocks. Ryleigh Marburger had six digs and ten assists for the contest. The JV squad showed improvement throughout the season under Coach Asijah Miller’s guidance.
The Lady Braves finished the regular season 23-7 (8-1 TRC). We would like to thank our families, fans, Athletic Department, and support staff for their support of this outstanding senior class. A special thank you to the Senior moms for everything you have done the last four years! The Braves play the first match of the Rochester Sectional next Thursday at 6 PM at Rochester.
