Lady Apaches Fall In Five To Oak Hill

The Wabash volleyball team fell in five 21-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-23, 13-15 To Oak Hill Tuesday.

Oak Hill would get off to a good start in game one, jumping out to a 5-1 lead and maintained the lead to 17-10 before the Apaches closed the gap. Kills from Brook Westendorf and Jade Stumbo closed the gap to 19-17 but Wabash could get no closer in a 25-21 loss.

Wabash would be the hot team to start game two, grabbing an 8-3 lead before Oak Hill came back to tie the score 9-9. Sydney Sickafus would then serve an ace to keep the Apaches on top before finding Faryn Morris multiple times down the stretch for a 25-23 win.

Again the Apaches would get a good start in game three with Morris, Stumbo and Isabella Vander Velden controlling the net for an 11-7 lead before Oak Hill scored six straight to grab the lead. The Eagles would never relinquish the lead for a 25-21 win and a 2-1 lead.

The Lady Apaches would jump out to a 6-0 lead to start game four and held an 18-14 lead before Oak Hill scored five straight to lead 19-18. Morris would stop the run with a kill and had two more kills down the stretch as Wabash held on for a 25-23 win to force a game five.

The Apaches led the first half of the match 8-6 before oak Hill grabbed a 9-8 lead and held off Wabash for a 15-13 win.
