Lady Apaches Fall At Rochester
The Wabash Lady Apache Varsity jumped out to a 12-9 lead after a quarter at Rochester on Saturday afternoon but couldn’t keep up the offensive pace as they fell 36-32.
Wabash controlled the boards and shot better from the field but were done in by turnovers and couple of timely Rochester three’s. The Lady Apaches trailed just 26-25 heading to fourth but couldn’t get over the hump.
Wabash, now 5-5, 0-2, was led by Kait Honeycutt with 14 points while Libby Mattern and Kierra Wilson added 8 and 7. Wilson and Rylee Yoakum pulled down 8 rebounds each to pace the Lady Apaches, while Yoakum also dished out 4 assists.
Wabash will be back on the court Tuesday night when the travel to Oak Hill.
