After a very slow first set, the Manchester volleyball team picked up the intensity and secured at least a 2nd place finish in conference by defeating the visiting Wabash Apaches in 4 sets, 12-25, 25-20, 29-27, 26-24.
Before the game, Manchester honored seniors Marley Bellinger and Brilee Enyeart. Both players have been key contributors and leaders both on and off the court for the last four years. Marley finished the match with 17 digs, 20 receptions, and 5 service points. Brilee finished the match with 7 digs, 2 assists, 6 receptions, and 8 service points including the game winning point.
Our hitters put up some good numbers with Izzy Renz leading us with 14 kills. Ava Felgar and Myla Crozier followed close behind with 9 and 8 kills respectively. Mya Metzger had 5 kills including 3 big kills in the 3rd set that really helped motivate the team and get the crowd excited.
The team combined for 98 digs on the night. Along with the seniors, we also had great passing nights from Peyton Ream with 25 digs, Myla Crozier with 22, and Hadley West with 14.
Peyton Ream once again had a nice night setting with the to the tune of 32 assists.
The Squires are now 21-4 on the season and finished TRC play with a record of 8-1. That had guaranteed the Squires at least a 2nd place finish in the conference.
